                    are numbered separately 1-21.
                    They are divided into two equal
                    sections, separated with an or-
                    namental frieze. On the left si-
                    de, the text is in Latin, on the ri-
                    ght – in French. Also the senten-
                    ces are separated with sophisti-
                    cated decorative elements. The
                    text contains numerous initials.
                    Each page is illustrated by one
                    or two miniatures.











                                                    NUMBER 1. Two miniatures. The first one features a Jew and
                                                    a Christian facing the court of law. It is an illustration of the
                                                    article of the Statute of Kalisz: "In a case against a Jew, no
                                                    Christian shall be admitted as a witness against a Jew unless
                                                    there is a Jewish witness together with the Christian." The
                                                    second scene depicts a Jew taking an oath before the court.
                                                    Numerous initials, also including an inscribed emblem of
                                                    Poland, as well as other elements.
