A AND SENATOR ANATOL DE MONZIE
N
In this etching, Artur Szyk expressed his thanks (in French) Detail with a Jewish cymbalist
to his protectors: the Ambassador Alfred Chłapowski and
Senator Anatol de Monzie for their kind help during his work
on the Statute of Kalisz. The text is decorated with
numerous initials, coats of arms and details – the bottom of
–
the page features a crowned eagle and the artist's
self-portrait with an inscription: Arthur Szyk 1927.
There is also a dedication: "I dedicate this work to the glo-
ry of Poland, my homeland."
From the collection of the Józef Piłsudski Library (WiMBP)
