The artist concludes his work with a few personal words in French:
"The work, planned and started in May 1926, was completed in December 1928 in Paris, at 11
villa du Parc Montsouris.
To Mr. August Decour, my protector since always, to Władysław Neuman, my childhood friend,
councilor at the Polish Embassy in Paris, I hereby wish to express my greatest gratitude for their
invaluable support which they gave to my work."
At the bottom, a seal bearing an inscription: " Arthur Szyk – enlumineur – miniateur – Paris –
Cahors" and the artist's handwritten signature.
