BIOGRAPHY
Artur Szyk died on 13 September 1951 in New Canaan,
Connecticut
He was awarded the French Officer's Palm (1923), the Polish
Cross of Merit (1930) and the American Order of
Washington (1934). He wore all these decorations with pride
and in his self-portraits they are almost always placed on his
chest.
