‘They had a great respect for each other.
They were in frequent contact on the phone.
Especially when something was necessary.
Not for us or him. Only when someone
needed help. For example, my father was
organising a mammography clinic for
women. And my mother was helping him.
Or he would send her seriously ill people, or
test results to be consulted. My mother would
then seek specialists. The best professors
in Paris did the consultations for free. And
when Solidarity started, mother was looking
for aid. My parents were in touch until the
end. Those were very frequent contacts,
I don’t know if they occurred daily, we didn’t
live together. They never divorced. They were
a married couple’.
