‘Marek was the area commander, and Jurek Błones was the
group commander. Marek used to do night alerts to check
our readiness. He would check with a watch in his hand how
long it took us to be ready and attack. He was very cold and
very brave. He was a responsible man and that’s why I felt
safe with him’.
