when she was a big activist in Skif and I was an absolute

- What was he like back then? ‘Hard-hearted. But we all
felt safe with him. (…) We all relied on him. We were sitting
at home waiting for him to come and bring a can of soup.
Otherwise we would have been hungry. We didn’t have to
worry about anything, because we knew that Marek would
arrange everything’.
Stasia Rozensztajn

Stasia was Marek Edelman’s great love. They met before
the war in March 1943, she went out to the Aryan side. After
the fall of the Warsaw Uprising she was sent to do forced
labour in Germany. After the war she left for Australia, and
subsequently to the USA.
