Jack Fuchs tuż po zakończeniu wojny
            Jack Fuchs after the war

Jack (Jakub) Fuchs (born in 1924) came from a family of Jewish craftsmen.
Together with his parents, two sisters and brother, he lived in Podrzeczna Street
and then Brzezińska Street (now Wojska Polskiego Street). The elder brother
was probably deported to Chełmno in 1942, the other members of the Fuchs
family were sent to the Auschwitz camp during the liquidation of the ghetto in
August 1944. Jakub was then transferred to the camp in Dachau, where he
lived to see liberation. After the war, he emigrated to the United States, and
in 1960, to Argentina, where he became involved in educating youth on the
subject of the Holocaust and published two editions of his memoirs.
