"Man Overboard. Lodz Residents 50 Years after March" is an interdisciplinary project of a universal and multifaceted character. The result of the project are multimedia exhibitions where participants talk about their lives, their emigration experiences and their integration in host communities.
Since these exhibitions have both a historical and educational dimension, they will be presented for a longer period than just a limited time exhibition commemorating the anniversary of the selected event. The project ‘Man overboard. Łódź residents 50 years after March’ "aims to present the fate of Jews from Łódź who left Poland during this period. The title of the project "Man overboard" symbolizes their struggle for survival in a foreign environment “without a life jacket ".
The Danish Cultural Institute has decided to take on the patronage of the "Man overboard" project. The project manager is Bogusława Sochańska, Head of the Danish Cultural Institute in Warsaw.
The Polish Embassy in Copenhagen expressed official support and interest in the project. The embassy together with the ambassador, Mrs. Henryka Mościcka-Dendys is the official project supervisor.
