On July 9th, 2011, at the Schweikert palace, which houses the main office of the European Institute, a European picnic was held - "Europe on the grass". On a beautiful Saturday afternoon many attractions were prepared for our visitors.
At 13 o’clock, an photo-event began (FotoDej) - the palace was made available to photographers who, over the next three hours, were photographing the interior of the European Institute. The effects of their work can be seen at www.mmlodz.pl, which is a portal organizing this event.
During the picnic, our guests could visit the palace and its garden, which that day buzzed with life. Citizens of Lodz had the opportunity to visit stands prepared by of the offices of Members of the European Parliament, Joanna Skrzydlewska and Jacek Saryusz-Wolski. Other stands belonged to beneficiaries of Good Practices and non-governmental organizations. Visitors had an opportunity to admire dog training and participate in the dog therapy show. We also organized games and activities for children and adults. At the special stand of the National Bank of Poland guests could buy a two-złoty coin with the logo of the Polish Presidency in the European Union. Particularly popular were the "Tastes of Europe" - stands offering Spanish and Polish cuisine.
At 16, a guided tour of the palace began, attended by nearly 120 people.

The guides to the world of European Union laws and directives were Witold Gerlicz from the office of Jacek Saryusz-Wolski and Tomasz Dominiak from Joanna Skrzydlewska’s office, who presented brief Euro-lessons.
